Warriors of the Free Cities

Warriors form my fantasy world. I am working on series of books, first of them is nearly finished they are styled on the early medieval Slavonic and Viking warriors.

From left to right:
> young, poor warriors usually have no armor at all. The one in the picture has only padded gloves. As a weapon, light, thou long axes, and maces are popular. If one isn't exactly a warrior, but he was called to arms by kniaź (kniaz - chief of village, Slavonic prince), he may even bear simple home use knife, or wooden club. With one handed weapon, almost always goes big, wooden, round shield, sometimes enforced with metal, or leather. When it goes to two handed weapons, young warriors of Free Cities use spears, or simple glaives (sometimes, just a knife putted on the top of a staff).
> middle class warriors usually have some light armor on. Long, sleeveless padded coats are basis. This one has also padded gloves, cape and cone(?) helmet. He is wielding weapon called pole ax (not a halberd - it's only small ax on a long pole. Halberd has also hook, and spike on the top). It's more expensive weapon, than spears. You can also observe battle knife with horn helder covered in leather sheath.
> veteran warriors are rich enough to buy some leather armor, much more expensive than padded cloth. They can also have swords - also very expensive weapon (much iron, and harder to forge). As it goes to larger weapons, in the Free Cities, two handed axes are popular (simple, massive blade, and pole). The one in the picture has helmet similar to the viking (no, vikings didn't have horns on helmets -_-) helmet.
> elite warriors: they wear chainmails, good leather armor, or sometimes even iron scale armor. This one, has also decorated cone helmet szłom (shwom - this is how you read this in engish). They very often use sword, usually decorated.

I hope you like it. I know the surrounding is very poor, but... I just hate surroundings :/
